FLASH! The Tri-Community Horsemen, ETI Corral 88 meeting at Rancho Indulto was a success! An estimated 20-plus people attended the July 27 meeting to hear Drs. Megan Dispenza and Dennis Loveless speak on Horses in Hot Weather, and then the group walked theĀ  Cowboy Trail Course and wateched as Stacy Nichols and Alberta Crigler rode Jacobs Buck (Jake) and Montastylishbaby (Tug) on course and discussed the philosophy behind training on and negotiating the course.

LOCATED IN THE HIGH DESERT on the north side of the San Gabriel mountains, Rancho Indulto is a privately owned, five-acre facility. The ranch, and this Web site, are the culmination of more than 35 years of owning, managing, training, loving and learning about horses. It's not a dream come true, but it is a dream come reality. Still developing, the ranch currently accommodates 10 horsesĀ  - small by any measure. Plans are in the works to host (journalists: error noted) affordable clinics with local clinicians and to offer boarding on a limited basis, horse sales and, hopefully, a continued pursuit of excellence in horsemanship.

UPDATE: Since this was orginally posted on July 22, other professional trainers have come forward with similar cases of slander against them via the Internet. Some have suggested we all group together to take action to identify the person(s) responsible for such deplorable behavior. I think a High Desert Professional Horsemen's Association would be a huge step towards protecting the responsible, hardworking horsemen serving the needs of the High Desert Equestrian Community.

The July 222 posting:

The other day I started an editorial for this site that was intended to address what I think is a problem for the image of the horse industry: the people who through ignorance or lack of class give the business a bad name. I'm sure by now that the continued slandering of my friend Stacy Nichols - and now me - on a popular Web site is pretty common knowledge. I have friends who have been emailing me links about Stacy for weeks, and now I've seen one about myself.
